The staff were lovely, breakfast had plenty of choice, and the hotel itself looks great. The location is hard to beat — you’re literally a few steps away from the main pedestrian street with all the shops and restaurants, but because the hotel is slightly tucked away, you don’t hear any of that noise. It was super quiet at night, which we really appreciated. All the big sights are an easy walk too.

The only real issue was our room. We were put right next to the lift, and every time it arrived there was a loud chime. The room door has gaps and basically no soundproofing, so we heard that beep constantly. It got old really fast, especially when you’re trying to relax or sleep. If you book here, just make sure you ask for a room far from the elevator. A couple of other things surprised us. At check-in they took a deposit that was close to 50% of what we paid for the whole stay. That’s a big chunk of money to have on hold, and it wasn’t made clear beforehand. Also, the hotel rules mention a fine if you lose your key card. I’ve never come across that in a five-star place before — felt a bit stingy

As the name indicates, the hotel is centrally located. We had Club rooms and checked in on the club floor. The Club team were very helpful. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. I was able to pay for an extra late check out (6pm) which was very helpful. Breakfast was extensive and served downstairs in the impressive salon. Soy bean milk was available.

Location is excellent. Rooms are quite comfortable.

The spa next to the pool was not working, as I understand permanently. The breakfast was the weakest point. There was no meat at all. Though there was a chef cooking excellent noodle soup. This is the reason while a point was deducted.
