Palazzo Castri 1874 Spa & Garden

Everything about the hotel was excellent: staff is exceptional especially Alice and Asia, the amenities are awesome, especially the back courtyard which is peaceful and green. The location near major attractions is a huge plus.

Die Lage des Hotels und die Freundlichkeit des Servicepersonals waren hervorragend. Allerdings besteht bei Sauberkeit und Hygiene deutlicher Verbesserungsbedarf. Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie ist der Zustand in diesem Bereich leider nicht akzeptabel.

We chose this hotel because of the many reviews mentioning the amazing staff and the wonderful garden and we were not disappointed. The staff were all super friendly (a special shoutout to Camilla in the restaurant, she was always smiling and delivering a fantastic service, even when rushed off her feet), helping with any queries with a smile. The garden - wow! What a calm, peaceful, beautiful place to sit and eat breakfast, having a quiet drink before going out for an evening meal and for a nightcap before bed. We had lunch there twice, unfortunately the food the second time was not quite as good as the first, which had been outstanding. We were three adults sharing a triple room (stunning view of Florence from our balcony) but when we arrived there were only glasses, mugs and water for two. We mentioned this to reception and a member of staff went up immediately to give us an extra cup and glass. The water was replenished every day which was a nice touch, but we were only ever given two bottles for some reason. Not a huge issue but a bit strange. The air conditioning in the room worked very well, thankfully, because it was hot in Florence! We would not hesitate to stay here again were we to return to Florence and highly recommend it to anyone researching hotels in Florence for a forthcoming trip, it really is a stunning place to stay, thank you Palazzo Castro.

What a hidden treasure inside Firenze! The rooms are quiet, beds so comfy, everything just so clean and lovely. All of the staff are terrific and dealt with my too many questions with graciousness, professionalism and a smile. The garden is lovely to relax in or eat outside. A very yummy breakfast with all kinds of delicacies, very above and beyond other hotels starts with the good morning young man who welcomes you to the day & buffet. The wait staff were amazing, especially the maitre. who has hired a terrific crew. Bravo to all! From yummy breakfasts, to wonderful caprese at lunch to a fantastic dinner, all the meals were top notch! The spa was a lot of fun & staff there again, fantastic, though pool is very small. It is for relaxing, not swimming. The spa is timed to limit activity so you can relax, although sometimes rowdy guests made relaxing harder. The sound of the fountain and from my terrace room, the lights of the Duomo at night were just magical. A short walk to most everything, including the train station, but you will get your steps in--though some sites like Palazzo Riccardi Medici just around the corner. Stay here! You will be glad you did.
