really great and friendly staff who helped to accommodate my friends and I'd requests to be put in the same room together instead of separated, comfy beds and spacious rooms, great facilities with simple and clear instructions. the hostel is not too far from public transportation and is quite near to several food joints, it was a great first hostel experience

the toilet and shower was a bit dirty, i felt like I was in the 80s lol, it needs a serious upgrade! its located in quite a dodgy area so you wont wanna be walking out and about at night alone as a female, even as a group honestly. bus stops and trams are not as near as id like but not too bad of a walk but will feel creepy if you are travelling alone. its super pricy for a hostel in my opinion but it is in the capital of Ireland. not sure if ill stay here again because of the price

The reception staff was very helpful and accommodating and took our concerns seriously. There was a cat on the premises who was the best part of our stay. Apparently she is owned by a neighbour and doesn't belong to the Hostel though.

Our stay at this dump of a place lasted for 6 days. The first (shared) room we were placed in smelled horrible and had beds that looked unfinished & not like in the pictures. We had to stay in that room for one night before being moved to another room. The second room (also a shared one) was more like the images but crowded. The curtain rod on my friend's bed broke during the night and her bed's night light kept flickering. All of the outlets made an annoying high pitched noise. The door of the room didn't have a proper stopper so every time someone entered/left, it made a loud bang noise that woke us up. The windows of the room had been tied up so we couldn't close or open them more. The windowsills and bedframes next to the window had mold in them. This second room also smelled - this time of weed. There was no air conditioning so the room was very hot. Right across the street was a bar that played loud music late into the night during the weekend. We were also woken up by a malfunctioning fire alarm during one of the mornings. The bathroom/shower area was constantly like a rain forest with all the moisture and poor/non-existent air conditioning. The showers had only hot water and smelled of sewer. For hand drying there were the world's loudest hand dryers. Some people used them to dry their thongs. The "dining area" was so echoey you couldn't hear each other if even one other group was talking. Some of the laundry machines / dyers were broken and worked only with 1 & 2€ coins. During our last night we returned to our room to find a naked man sleeping in his bed ass bare, balls hanging and the curtain wide open. No room/ house rules related to this had been told to us before or during the check-in, but we think this was unnacceptable. We reported him to the reception & went to sleep, don't know if anything came out of it.

Well equipped and good location

the bunk beds have curtains, the kitchen is cleaned by staff every morning. and the rec room is a nice hangout space, has many couches and pool tables. overall, i felt safe in this hostel, so if you're on a budget, i think you can stay here and have a decent trip.

i saw a rat in the hall on the stairs and that concerned me quite a bit. i told the staff and he came out with to look for it, but it had disappeared. just concerning. the bathrooms and showers are okay, but kind of grimy, i guess that's to be expected.
