Mena Hotel Riyadh

Fantastic. Great hotel. I've stayed at the Marriott also which is a nice hotel, but it's way too far off the beaten path. The Mena is a hidden Gem. there's a really cool restaurant very close by. It's called submarino . very funky kind of like being at Disneyland, but I'm telling you the food is really really good. The only negative that I can think of might be the business center printer kind of sucks and I'm pretty sure the computer put a virus on my thumb drive. Maybe step up that (business services) game a little bit. Get a better printer. also, a couple times nobody spoke much English at all. Overall though, this is my favorite Hotel. We sit outside and drink coffee or take a walk. I can even walk to the Tamimi Market if I need something. I ate at the restaurant just about every day. I think it's great. As long as they have hummus and nice salad options I'm a fan. One time I came back after a couple months in the manager of the restaurant recognized me and said welcome back. That was unusual.

Mike and Mohd Ali are very professional and helpful towards us. Thank you for their excellent service. However their wifi needs much improvement. The wifi in both the room and the lobby can be unstable at times and tends to drop every now and then. But the professional and personalised service rendered by their staff is exceptional. We are won over by the hotel staff's sincerity. A good hotel for business!

I stayed for three nights without anybody asking me to pay which has never happened with me before . Taxis always available outside the hotel. Next to Faisalieh mall (5 minutes walk which is very convenient) and close to clients. Business area.

A very good experience overall. Arrival was easy because of the central location and the availability of hotel parking. Check in was smooth, fast, and courteous. The hotel food was exceptionally good -- recommended.

No room service... bizarrely you can order dinner but you have to pick it up from the dining room and take it up to your room , same for take away??

The bed was old with the wood falling apart and noisy whenever you move on it. There was hair in the bathtub, the cotton of the bed sheets was also worn out, there is a constant sound from the central air condition above the room which even if I turn off the AC remains noisy and annoying. Only 2 switches in the room to turn all the lights on/off as well as the power plugs, hence if you want to charge your phone you have to do it with the lights on.... At least the staff was ok.

Overall very good , have stayed in the Mena on a few occasions and find the service and the rooms to be first class.

I stay in the area everytime, so I am familiar with things around me, however my usual hotel was fully booked as such short notice. Chekin staff were friendly, I specifically asked for a non-smoking room on the booking for and also at checking in. however the room did smell of smoke. I tried to call room service to get an iron board and iron, I was not able to get through, considering it was 2am, I thought id call in the morning. however calling at 9:10 am left me receiving the request just after 10am. which caused me delay in getting to a meeting I was going to. There was no hot water in the room, I mentioned this to the front desk staff, they advised me to call maintenance to get it resolved. (staying at a 4* hotel made me expect a more pro-active approach by the staff to ensure the matter was resolved, rather than advise me on calling up someone, especially after the episode in the morning. Finally, as I get to have some dinner in the restaurant, and having seen that there are À la carte options, I decided to dine there. unfortunately they only had the buffet option. which meant me walking else where. I would only stay there again if I have to.

The staff are amazing , will book in this hotel again for sure .

The room had an overwhelming smell of sand, you would notice the sand stuck in the curtain if you try to open/close it. I asked and double confirmed a hotel pick-up which didnt show up at the airport. I called the hotel 3 times to get an answer, and the person said he is not sure if the driver left and that he doesn't have his number. After 5 minutes on convincing I got the number of the driver who didn't answer his phone (more than 10 calls over 20 minutes). When I took a cab to the hotel they said the driver was arrested and his car was confiscated by the police because a driver is not allowed to wait for a passenger at the airport and hold a name placard. Mind you there were more than 50 airport pick-ups in the airport doing the exacvt same thing, and I've been coming to Riyadh for 10yrs and getting an airport pickup.
