"Great place...."

8.0

Great place to stay, save and close to the metro station. The room was clean and fresh. We enjoyed the stay very much....and it was cheap. Paulo was also great with info and we recieved a printout of the local area, with info. If you want to eat local, you can't get more local than Monte Carlo Due across the road, and very cheap and the food is great. Have the seafood pasta...

"Stay here! Fabulous, great value, friendly and welcoming"

10.0

We had a fantastic three night stay here as a family last week. We stayed in a family room, which was spacious, had comfortable beds, a safe, fridge, air conditioning and a ceiling fan and an on- suite shower room. Outside the room in a shared area was an espresso machine, cereal and cakes for breakfast, and we had access to a kitchen so could cook for ourselves if we wished. Our welcome could not have been warmer or more helpful (thank you!) and we followed the local Street Art tour on the map supplied by the owner, which took us out to explore the area local to the hotel. The hotel is close to a metro stop on a direct route in to Termini, and an advantage of not being right in the middle was a great choice of friendly, affordable local restaurants and bars, and a great local supermarket. We will return here when we come back to Rome. If you want a friendly, great value comfortable place to stay with character in a vibrant part of the city then this is for you.

"just what I have expected"

10.0

I would definitely recommend this b&b. Nice, spacious room (we stayed in "Zamia"), quiet neighborhood, very close to the metro station. Since I’ve checked other reviews of this b&b before I expected breakfast to be rather simple so I was not disappointed. The kitchen is well equipped though. The place is well organized. During our stay not many other people were staying in the apartment. Thanks to that we really felt like we had house for ourselves. Very nice place for a little money.

"Very nice b+b, family friendly"

10.0

Great experience! Would definitely recommend this place. Of course, it's bed and breakfast with shared bathroom, so less comfort than a hotel but also much cheaper. The rooms are clean and the kitchen is very well equipped with espresso machine, microwave, etc. and everything needed to cook. Several good restaurants in the neighborhood. Paolo is a great host, very friendly and helpful. The place is close to a subway station, perfect to explore the city.

"Great starting base to explore Rome !"

8.0

I have searched for a convenient stay for my family for my returning trip to Rome. Martini Bed is what I found and I am more than happy about it. Owner Paolo is an excellent host that you could only praise. Nice, friendly, helpful and promise keeping guy. Typically I write my reviews in a telegraph style with like/dislike scores and lets keep it also this time. You will find Martini Bed - very convenient location - very close to Rome Metro station Porta Furba (20 minutes to center) - very clean - very safe - located in a residents area and residents building built in 50's - very home-alike - very friendly Martini bed is having its rooms named by plants ("Yucca", "Zamia"...), our room named "Zamia" also had toilet and a bathroom. The rest of them seem to have shared toilets and shower. Kitchen is shared, friendly open style, yet a bit small if other residents want to use it at the same time. Breakfast choice is a bit basic (milk, coffee, cookies, jam) yet you can bring your own goods from a nearby market-store and store it then in your own dedicated area in the refrigerator and in the kitchen itself. Martini Bed is located in the 3rd floor, 66 steps or reachable also with an elevator. Wi-fi is complementary, however during the time of our stay did not work properly - the registration through social networks is a bit hard to get it work. TV with local channels is also available. For a family like ours who came by car location is excellent. Coming on a Sunday I managed to find a free parking spot very nearby, which was also very convenient. Nearby takeaway pizza's are also a good choice to take, when you are returning tired from strolling from the Rome city center. Metro could be very crowded and hot, therefore make sure you have enough energy and you are not afraid of being squeezed by crowd. In that case wait for another train, it comes in minutes. What I disliked ? Nothing, all was fine. The only thing is that my short 3 nights stay passed too quickly. I am sure I had not enough time nor ability to see it all, that is why I would need to return to Rome.... ... and take Martini Bed again for my preferred choice to stay.

"Awesome!"

10.0

We visited Rome for the first time and some local friends recommended we stay here. It was really affordable and the rooms are spacious and clean. We had a nice-sized bathroom in our room, it was clean and there were plenty of towels. Paolo greeted us when we arrived and within minutes he felt like a good friend. He sat us down and showed us on a map all the places we should visit and how to get there. There is a shared kitchen with an excellent espresso maker that I took full advantage of at all times during the day and night. The B&B is located very conveniently next to a Metro stop that is very easy to navigate as there are only two lines. Also, there are several good restaurants in the area, in fact, across the street is a restaurant that served the best pizza we have ever eaten! Definitely recommend this place, we will be staying here on future visits!

"Next time I'm in Rome, Martini Bed will be first on the booking list!"

10.0

I found Martini Bed untypically through a sister site for cycling tourists. Paolo, a Rome local native, owns and manages this little gem and really makes the effort to share what he knows of the city! I felt as if I could navigate my way around the city center much more easily after Paolo's pointers. It's very clean, each room has its own unique ambiance, and it's less than 5 minute's walk from a direct Metro downtown. If you're looking for a personal BnB in Rome, particularly one that treats you with respect despite having to travel on a budget... this is one of the better one's that the city has to offer.

"A good choice"

8.0

Martini Bed is an apartment in a building with a good ratio of cost versus benefit. Furthermore, Paolo, the owner, is a very friendly and helpful. -Location: a bit far from the downtown, but very close to a metro station. The neighborhood is very quiet, with very restaurants and other services. -Room: comfortable and clean. -Breakfast: in a shared kitchen with juice box, coffee, milk, cereal, cakes, cookies, etc.
