My husband and I came to Hong Kong for part of my Birthday celebrations. Arriving at the Hotel late that night, Upon arriving, the hotels staff lacked hospitality. At the entrance, firstly no friendliness with warm greeting, with no one to assist with our bags, being so tired we expected some friendliness and made to feel like valued guests. All the Staff that we saw, looked angry and tired, they do not make you feel welcome, when asked for a porter to assist with our bags and take us to our rooms, no one was available, apparently we must wait 15 min, I am wondering now, is this what we paid for. When we said we hungry and like need a meal and enquired about room service, at the time, one staff member said that kitchen closes in 4 min....now we must wait 15 min for porter and then we must also order our room service in 4 minutes time, seriously is this how you treat your paying guests in a 5 star Hotel. No alternative or some sort of compassion. When we finally go to the room, there's no water, nothing in fridge that we can take and pay for, like 5 star hotels full of goodies which you can snack and be billed. Then we noticed no Universal adaptors available to charge our phones, we needed to call home which is half way across the world to tell our kids we arrived. I called reception. The response from the madam on the other side was when I asked for one was." We do not have, thank you, Bye." Is this how you train your staff to speak, I would have appreciated a response which helped me, at least where to get one, the next day, or some better way of responding, finding a solution, we are foreigners in a new country....at least tell us or give us information how to get one. The attitude of all the staff are very cold and not friendly, if you ask for help, they very direct and sometimes, they Still busy typing on computer and do not even give you eye contact. Where we come from its very disrespectful, nevertheless if this is the way the Hotel is, then maybe it should be advertised as what to expect, then we as guests will respect that way of life and not book at your hotel. Breakfast, you must make yourself comfortable and eat, it would be appreciated if at least a staff member shows you around especially the first day to familiarize ourselves, the tables are so close to each other and its quiet a tight squeeze, while other guests are staring at you. Its a bit uncomfortable, no one tells you anything, you must eat and go. There is just no warmth at all in this Hotel, when we checked out of the hotel, I dont think anyone even noticed. We carried our own bags and walked out, not even a good bye and safe journey blessings. did not feel like a valued guest. Definitely won't be coming back and will let Our agency know so they can tell their clients the truth. You travel to enjoy life and stay in the best, but this Hotel just got no hospitality, warmth, friendliness. You sit like 15hours on a plane and come to this type of attitude. This Hotel dampened my spirits, I was celebrating a milestone in my life and it was a waste of money booking in this Hotel. We felt unwelcomed from beginning to end. My husband and I are happy people but the gloomy feeling really dampened our joy of a vacation.
