The Metropole really does set the standard for hotels in Hanoi. It is packed full of character with numerous restaurants and bars that you just want to linger in. The Bamboo bar provides atmospheric drinking and dining as does the Spice Garden. Service levels throughout are very high. I simply love this hotel.

The breakfast was the most wonderful selection of food gorgeously presented in the most lovely room. We loved our cocktails in the bamboo bar. In a charming location in the french quarter, close to wonderful shopping (very high end).

There are two hotel buildings- one one in the back is nice but basic (our son stayed there). We asked to be moved to the other buildings and paid $300 US dollars more, but it was well worth it. We then received breakfast, tea and cocktails with a 3 tier plate of appetizers included in the price of our room. Well worth it!

I visited Hanoi for business for three days. Rooms are beautiful, service is great but the most amazing experience was brought my F&B manager Khuat Van Anh. She is attentive, responsive and very kind. I can’t thank her enough for outstanding care for our team during stay which made me leave this 5-star recommendation to the hotel.

A fabulous hotel in a great location! I do think that the place that you stay is directly linked to how much you enjoy a city, and we loved Hanoi! I'm so pleased that I picked this hotel as our experience of Hanoi was completely different from that of friends who have previously visited and who stayed deep in the hustle and bustle of the old quarter on the other side of the lake. This side, whilst very, very easily walkable to the madness of the little old quarter streets, is much calmer, with wide boulevards and less chaos. Many streets here become walking streets at night, and it is a pleasure to stroll out from the hotel and wander around the lake, watching (and sometimes joining!) the pop-up Zumba, ballroom dancing and disco without the worry of a moped taking you out! The hotel is pristine and it is also a huge bonus to have the tranquility of the inner courtyard and pool to retreat to after a busy morning. Do stay on the executive floors if you can stretch to it - gorgeous Dipytique toiletries and the 7th floor lounge is an oasis of calm with delicious a la carte breakfast service and buffet style afternoon tea and evening canapés plus a very good drinks and cocktail list. My only 'room for improvement' feedback would be to vary up the canapés a bit more (although the smoked tuna slices which were available every night were sublime). The staff in the lounge are such a credit to the hotel - absolutely on top of their game in terms of service, but also in terms of personality and helpfulness. Special mentions for the delightful Gian who looked after us so well, was a pleasure to chat to and who gave great advice on shopping and where to find what we wanted. Also to Tommy who has a fabulous personality and makes an excellent cocktail! And general thanks to all of the Majordomes, front row staff and the staff behind the scenes who quietly make this hotel operate like clockwork.
