Lovely and quiet Cannaregio

The location was fantastic, it’s such a beautiful neighbourhood, tucked away from the tourist areas but still close enough that you can comfortably walk to things.

The air conditioning was broken and I was told that fans were provided as a substitute. There is a washing machine but no was to dry your clothes as the clothes horse is broken. There is a strange smell coming from the kitchen. The roof looks like it could collapse at any second. All the screens have holes in them so you can’t open the windows or risk death by mosquitoes. The host is quite blunt and possibly has poor English skills. The bed isn’t very comfortable and the pillows are very poor quality.

Cerca de estación Santa Lucía , se puede ir caminando. Cerca de los puntos turísticos. Barrio tranquilo, la propiedad cuenta con todas las comodidades y electrodomésticos con buen funcionamiento.

Un poco de calor a pesar de tener aire acondicionado.

Perfetta per chi non vuole mangiare ogni giorno fuori, ottimo appoggio. Ottima qualità prezzo.

Unica pecca, mancavano alcune cose in cucina, come asciugamani e presine. Ma anche prodotti base per cucinare.

It was in a quiet area away from high tourist traffic

The “manager” Leonardo was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. When I called to say that we had arrived, I was told that I told his employee I didn’t have reservation. Weeks before my trip, I had received a WhatsApp message from someone saying they are welcoming me to Venice and wanted my information about travelling and arrival. I asked who they were and where they were from. For days I didn’t get an answer. Booking.com does say not to share info outside of the website, specifically mentioning WhatsApp. So I blocked the number. A couple of weeks later I got another message saying they want to know when I’m arriving. Again I asked who they are and why they are messaging me. No one replied. After a couple of days I blocked the number. So once I arrived and was talking to Leonardo, he wouldn’t let me speak and then told m he would call me back. Instead, he started sending me screen shots through WhatsApp of the WhatsApp conversation. He wouldn’t speak to me. Wouldn’t acknowledge and apologize that he didn’t properly identify himself. After a long trip and venting extremely hot and tired I asked when I might be able to get in the room that I reserved and paid for. I was told after 3pm. I replied saying that 3 pm the latest I would accept. At 2:30 a young lady shows up with a cart and tells us the apartment isn’t cleaned yet. She allowed us to put our bags inside and “check us in” but needed another hour before it was clean. The air conditioner vent was cracked so stayed hot the whole time. Sewage gas came up from the drains. Bed was a futon.

Die Lage in Cannareggio ist sehr ruhig, abseits vom Touristenstrom, aber dennoch ist die nächste Vaporetto-Station in kurzer Zeit zu erreichen. Wir konnten schon etwas früher einchecken, aber nur das Gepäck abstellen.

Die Wohnung ist im EG, was uns persönlich angenehm ist, aber es war etwas zugig, da man durch die Haustüre direkt das Schlafzimmer betritt. Die Haustüre ließ sich nicht richtig absperren, nur zu ziehen. Es gab keine Vorhänge an den Schlafzimmerfenstern; Sichtschutz war nur durch Verschließen von Klappläden, wodurch es dann aber im Innenraum dunkel ist und Licht angemacht werden muss. Der Empfang durch die zuständige Person war nicht gerade herzlich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis fanden wir nicht besonders. Wir hatten die Nächte zuvor ein ganz zentral gelegenes, großes Apartment mit moderner Ausstattung, das unwesentlich teurer war, aber nicht mehr bis zum gewünschten Termin frei war.

La ragazza che ci ha consegnato le chiavi parlava solo inglese. Io e la mia compagna di viaggi parliamo l’inglese a livello base. Mi sarebbe piaciuto trovare qualcuno a cui chiedere qualche consiglio su zone, ristoranti e trasporti.
