Canal View Luxury Heritage Retreat 2 Bedroom

Beautiful apartment in a quiet part of town but so close to all the things you want. The apartment t was spacious, beautiful view, comfortable and well equipped.

Unfortunately the property fell below our expectations and we do feel there was a lack of transparency in the listing - The provided keys are difficult to use, making entry and exit of the apartment and courtyard difficult especially at night. The courtyard that the apartment is located in is an active construction site with no functioning lighting at night - meaning the stairs are pitch black and dangerous if you don’t have a torch. We messaged about this on our first evening and received no reply. The ‘air conditioning’ must have been broken because a single portable air unit was in the apartment on arrival - and was attached to the window in a way that meant we couldn’t close the window. This led to our family of 5 being bitten by numerous mosquitos in the night and being unable to secure our belongings during the day with the open window. The unit was not cheap and being provided a consolation to what we were promised really does not cut it for the rate we were charged. The most confusing and uncomfortable part of the whole experience was that, as we were preparing to check out, a man let himself into the apartment and sat at the kitchen table!?!? We asked if he was the owner to which he responded ‘no, you need to be out by 10’. This is just ludicrous behaviour and we were in no way warned anyone would be coming into the space while we were getting dressed and packing. Honestly we’re disappointed and pretty upset about the experience with this apartment and will be seeking accommodation elsewhere when we return to Venice. I wouldn’t recommend.
