The host was very nice. She accomadated my late check in while I was dealing with paperwork at customs. When I had to travel across country and set up my apartment she offered to hold my luggage so i could come back for it. It was pet friendly and stayed cool so my cat was comfortable. Being the only affordable place that was pet friendly, I would reccomend this place!

Just neighborhood.

This was by far the most uncomfortable and unpleasant experience we've ever had while traveling. The pictures on Booking looked somewhat decent, the location seemed okay, but what we walked into was far from acceptable – it was downright disgusting. From the moment we entered, we were overwhelmed by a horrible cooking smell that made us feel sick. It wasn’t just a passing scent – it clung to everything. Then we realized we were staying on the same floor as the owner's son, in the room right next to ours. The walls were paper-thin, and you could hear absolutely everything – conversations, coughing, showers. There was zero privacy. The bathroom was shared with the host's family, and the toilet didn’t even have a sink. To wash your hands, you had to leave the toilet and do it in front of everyone – right outside our room, where the sink and shower were. Completely inappropriate and deeply uncomfortable. One morning, I came out of the toilet and was shocked to see the owner’s son standing half-naked, freshly showered, right in front of our door in his underwear. It was beyond awkward and totally unacceptable. The place was grossly overpriced for what was offered. The walls were old and wooden, the room was dark and depressing, and every sound traveled. As for amenities, we got a couple of sad little toothbrushes and nothing else. When I asked for slippers, I was met with a cold, judgmental glare. Check-out time was 10 AM, and we knew that in advance. But instead of simply trusting us to leave on time, the host felt the need to message us about it again, as if we were planning to overstay. She could’ve easily said it in person, but clearly chose to avoid us. Given the poor conditions, I would’ve liked a word with her myself. And to top it all off – one morning before 8 AM, the host came to clean the shower and sink area right outside our room, making noise, banging around and singing, waking us up.

The house was for the most part, very clean. The house had a lot of rooms and was very comfortable. The house also had a pot and pan and basic supplies to do some home cooking.

The fridge had a strong, fishy smell.

The host was incredibly sweet and made me feel very welcome in a foreign country. Couldn't recommend her more!

I enjoyed the room and the host

The house is just about 15 mins walk from the station. My room was comfy and spacious with clean linens. I arrived slightly late but the host Kyoka san was very understanding and courteous. She waited for my arrival. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. I had a wonderful stay at Kyoka House. Thank you very much to the host for a pleasant stay.

All is fine. There was nothing I did not like.
