Beautiful City Suites

Great location, near Square, monuments and restaurants.

Only small issue was staircase to take baggage to room.

A wonderful stay at Beautiful City Suites in the heart of Athens. Tucked away in the vibrant streets near Monastiraki, it offered the perfect blend of comfort, charm and authentic Greek hospitality. Waking up surrounded by history, with the Acropolis just a short stroll away. Beautiful rooms, a fantastic location, and warm, welcoming hosts made it feel like a home away from home. With a great restaurant next door. We couldn’t have asked for a better base to explore this incredible city. 🇬🇷

We liked the location - central and accessible by foot to many sights. Plenty of places to eat/drink nearby. 5 minute walk from metro station. Sheets and towels were clean. The bed and pillows (1 each) were comfortable. Plug-in mosquitoe repellent provided. AC quiet and worked really well.

The room description definitely needs improving. We booked the "double deluxe room with balcony" but we were given room 4 with a rooftop terrace which was shared with room 5 and any other guests that choose to use it so don't expect privacy, it looked out onto a tree and straight into neighbouring terraces - no pleasant city views. The terrace wasn't clean and was covered with leaf litter, dust etc. The church bells chime from about 6am every half hour to 11pm (Sunday more so) - they are super close thus very loud. If you want to see the Agora or Acropolis from room 4 you have to stretch out of the window and look through some railings. The photos don't do the room justice. It's actually dated, small, extremely limited storage space (clothes hanging area had 5 coat hangers), bathroom extractor was black with dust, bathroom door handle nearly falling off, toilet drips (explained why water was off at the stop valve when we arrived), there was an exposed cable above the bathroom mirror, grout in shower was stained and one socket was loose in the wall. While the sheets were clean, the mattress protector wasn't - stained and hairs. One tea bag was provided and not replenished. Nor was the milk. The spiral staircase is tight and steep. It does have a certain quaintness but is not for someone who has difficulty with steps or big luggage. It has an overhang which I hit my head hard on when going up.

This was our second visit to Beautiful City Suites and we were welcomed back like friends. Above the Beautiful City restaurant in the wonderful pedestrian market streets of Athens, we love being in the heart of the City. This time, we were a little thrown because we were given a Suite on the upper roof terrace. A wonderful venue, but as older travellers, we were concerned by the spiral staircase. We need not have been! Because we arrived between 10.30am and midnight, one of the lovely staff from the restaurant took our bags up for us. The night before we were due to leave, they took them to the foyer for us so we were ready for an early morning departure. So we had all the fun of the Cityscape with none of the pressure of the stairs. Fabulous! A second wonderful stay!

We were able to negotiate the pedestrian streets with our luggage, but the stairs would have been a challenge for older travellers with luggage: if it hadn't been for the help on offer! Thanks so much, City Suites!

Central location. Beautiful clean room with comfortable bed. Shared Balcony views over ancient agora . Tea coffee making facilities.Reception help to carry bags up stairs on arrival.

3 Flights of very steep stairs, last one a spiral staircase.Toiletries were in bulk container not special.

Locatie is perfect om de stad te ontdekken

Hygiëne was oké voor een kort verblijf maar niet perfect. Ook de badkamer was zeer kleinschalig en de douche werkte niet goed. Prijs-kwaliteit hadden we meer verwacht.
