Harbour Grand Hong Kong

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, but the welcome I got from Maria at Harbour Grand Hong Kong is one I’ll actually remember. I arrived after a long journey, and she sorted out an early check-in without me even having to ask twice, which made a bigger difference than I expected. Then, instead of rushing through the usual checklist, she actually walked me through everything: the hotel, the Club Lounge, the city outside. She signed me up for the Club benefits on the spot, and by the time she finished explaining what was included throughout the day, I was already looking forward to it. This was my first trip to Hong Kong, and her local knowledge turned out to be just as useful as anything the hotel itself offered. She marked up a map, told me which station exits to use for different sights, and gave me a few recommendations that felt like they came from an actual local rather than a brochure. It was less like a check-in and more like getting a customised, personal travel itinerary from a tour guide who actually knew the city. What I appreciated most is that none of it felt like a script. Her English was excellent and she clearly knew the hotel and city inside out, but more than that, she seemed to genuinely care whether I had a good time, not just whether I checked the right boxes. The hotel backs it up, too. It’s a big, elegant property, well looked after, and my room had a corner view across Victoria Harbour that’s honestly stunning, especially from the 41st floor once the city starts lighting up in the evening. Maria turned what’s usually a forgettable five minutes at the front desk into the best part of arriving. Harbour Grand is lucky to have her. Thank you, Maria, you set the tone for the whole stay.

Nice Harbour views. Club room with access to lounge and breakfast in 41. floor. Nice pool and ok gym.
