La posizione e la vista sul mare

Ritengo che il vero punto di forza della struttura, allo stato attuale, risieda nella figura della Direzione, che rappresenta una risorsa fondamentale e determinante per il superamento di alcune criticità emerse. La competenza, la sensibilità e l’attenzione dimostrate costituiscono infatti un elemento centrale per valorizzare ulteriormente una struttura di grande pregio. Proprio in questa fase, suggerirei una presenza ancora maggiore ai piani da parte del Direttore che, pur essendo già solitamente presente e attento nella gestione operativa, potrebbe con una presenza ancora più costante trasmettere ulteriore controllo, coordinamento e vicinanza operativa nei confronti dello staff e degli ospiti.

Alcune delle criticità riscontrate meritano certamente particolare attenzione e richiedono interventi migliorativi. Ritengo tuttavia che tali aspetti, pur non essendo sempre sotto l’immediato controllo della Direzione, possano essere efficacemente superati grazie alla competenza, alla presenza e alla sensibilità che la stessa ha dimostrato nel seguire la situazione con attenzione e spirito costruttivo. Sono convinto che la Direzione disponga degli strumenti e delle capacità necessarie per porre rimedio alle problematiche emerse e per accompagnare un percorso di miglioramento concreto ed efficace.

The location of the Eurostars Hotel Excelsior is fantastic. We had a room with a sea view overlooking Mount Vesuvius.

Hotel does not live up to its potential. The balcony was sparsely furnished and dirty, giving a neglected impression. It feels like a proper lounge set would fit this space perfectly and truly elevate it, but the hotel has simply not made use of that opportunity. This is a real missed chance, especially given the setting. This contrasts with the elegant feel of the curtains and the beautiful wooden furniture inside the room. There is no swimming pool and no direct access for guests to enter the sea for relaxation, which feels like a significant omission for this price range. Breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, especially when it comes to cakes, sweets, and fruit. However, the bread was surprisingly poor. In a country famous for pizza and excellent dough, it was disappointing that the bread felt almost plastic-like: difficult to break, chewy in the wrong way, and hard. The rooftop restaurant was disappointing due to long waiting times, lukewarm food. The service and table allocation were also underwhelming. Another disappointing detail was the toilet paper. The quality was remarkably poor: extremely thin and uncomfortable to use. Perhaps this is related to the plumbing limitations of an older building, but regardless, it feels far below the standard one would expect at this price level. It is also surprising, given that Italy is known for its espresso culture, that the room does not include a proper coffee machine. Instead, only instant Nescafé is provided, and the in-room coffee corner is poorly thought out: the sugar sachets had clumped together due to moisture, and there wasn’t even a spoon in the room to stir it with. It feels not even properly functional, and well below what one would expect from a hotel of this category.
