NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse

Great location with comfortable bed and aircon. Very close to many places.

Two thirds of lifts were out of order, shower was broken but salvageable. Staff were very slow and not very friendly.

I had a lovely stay here at NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse. The location was perfect and just a few minutes walking distance away from the Opera House, excellent restaurants, and shops. The location is right next to the train station as well--so easy to walk to in just under three or four minutes. Furthermore, the hotel is quite close to many frequent walking and bus tour meeting points. In fact, one tour I did of Sachsenhausen concentration camp had its meeting point right across the street from this hotel! All 30 participants waited there so it was super easy to find--I just walked out the front door. The room was perfect--super clean, quiet, and a bit larger than I had anticipated. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Frequently the front desk information staff arranged for my taxis, pulled out local maps and gave me excellent, helpful walking directions, and gave me tips on where to eat and how to get to certain venues. One time I thought I might need to take a taxi to a certain place and the desk clerk quickly showed me how it was really just a 15-20 minute stroll from the hotel. She saved me a little time and money! She pointed out how to walk to the Brandenburg Gate for a walking tour and it was super easy. Also, the daily breakfast was exemplary--and the evening bar and restaurant service was excellent. I had dinner in their small, cozy restaurant three times during my stay, and the food and service were absolutely wonderful. In fact, the wait staff and bartender gave me some terrific tourist tips! Overall, NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse was a delight, and I hope to stay there again soon!

NOTHING! Everything was just great. I particularly liked being given a free drink for each night I opted for "green stay"--no room cleaning service needed. As I was traveling solo, this was just perfect.
