Mercure Hotel Muenchen am Olympiapark

The hotel is conveniently situated, just two minutes walk from the nearest tram stop. It is served by the 20 and 21 lines which take you straight in to the centre of Munich in about 10 minutes. The staff we dealt with were superb - very helpful and friendly and helped out with a number of queries. As for the rooms, they are not what you would call 5 star, however that is not what you are paying for. There are a few little touches that are missed that could easily bump the hotel up a notch and the rooms were a little small. However, the beds were comfy and the showers both very powerful, although both leaked somewhat on to the bathroom floor (the hotel dealt with that when we reported it). All in all I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone. We had a very enjoyable stay and would happily go back!

Nice hotel close to tram stop and walkable to Olympic park ~ 20 minutes

A very pleasant atmosphere, excellent breakfast. Only on arrival my room smelled strongly of smoke but they transferred me immediately to a different room with complimentary upgrade.

Lovely stay. Hotel is a little out of the way, but it's very close to public transport links, so that wasn't a problem. Staff spoke perfect English and German. There's a bakery just down the road too, which was a nice bonus. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice clean hotel, close to the Olympic Park and BMW world (10 min walk)

The room was clean and fairly basic. breakfast not included. Olympia Park not as close as the hotel name might suggest, and a very long way from the airport. Local neighbourhood felt safe.

The hotel staff were exceptional, they went out of their way to help with our enquiries. Offering good information on travelling, eating out and places of interest. If you did not book breakfast for your stay there is an excellent coffee shop next door that offers a good breakfast selection at reasonable prices. Transport into the city centre is close by and day tickets can be purchased at the hotel. The transport system is very good and cheap to use. Overall the hotel was comfortable, well maintained and I would certainly go back again.

I stayed here in order to run the Munich Marathon and the location is brilliant. It is a 5 minute walk to the start and a 15 minute walk to the expo and finish. The nearby Leonrodplaz contains a tram stop that goes straight to the city center, the Olympic Park and another stop that goes to 2 beer gardens. As for the hotel itself the facilities are clean but basic (my room had no bath and only 3 English tv channels), however the staff were great and very helpful. One thing that I did think was disappointing was the high cost of the hotel breakfast, luckily there was a nice coffee shop just a few doors down and a supermarket in Leonrodplatz a 2 minute walk away.

Hotel location is OK. It is not in the heart of downtown, but the surrounding area seems clean and nice enough. I stayed during Oktoberfest and the tram+U-bahn trip is maybe 10-15 min total. To the airport, the tram+S-bahn ride will take between 1-1.5 hours depending on your luck timing the trains. My single room was on the 3rd floor. It was small with an angled ceiling (even in the bathroom), but for a single traveler this was no problem. The room was very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, this hotel is a great value if you don't mind being outside the heart of downtown.
