Grand Hyatt Istanbul

Our family has been residing at the Grand Hyatt Residences in Harbiye, Istanbul, since last November. The experience has been nothing short of exceptional, offering the perfect balance of five star luxury and residential comfort. ​We extend our highest commendations to the entire hotel staff. Across every department, the team consistently delivers an unparalleled level of professionalism, attentiveness, and seamless service that has made our long term stay entirely effortless. ​We would like to express a special note of appreciation to Ms. Ufuk at the SPA and every person in the SPA. MS Ufuk outstanding dedication, expertise, and personalized care have been a definitive highlight of our experience, embodying the very best of the Hyatt brand's hospitality standards. ​The prime location, immaculate accommodations, and world class service make this property an exemplary choice for extended stays. To the management and every single staff member at the Grand Hyatt Istanbul, thank you for taking such magnificent care of my family over these past months. Perfecte locatie, mooi gebouw, ruime en schone kamers en geweldig zwembad

De service en (on)vriendelijkheid van het personeel. Dit is iets dat absoluut verbeterd moet worden. Er werden dagelijkse meerdere fouten gemaakt en er lijkt een gebrek aan goede organisatie en bemensing, vooral bij het ontbijtbuffet en bij de bar van het zwembad. Het ligt nu eerder op het niveau van 3 sterren, en zelfs bij 3 sterren heb ik vaak betere en meer vriendelijke service ervaren. Nu is het een chaos in de organisatie en taakverdeling en er heerst geen pro-actieve servicegerichte houding. Uitzondering hierop zijn de vriendelijke portiers buiten en in de bal en de vriendelijke schoonmaakster Hatice. Zij weten wel wat gastvrijheid en service is.

The hotel is in a very convenient location — not exactly in the historical center, but not on the outskirts either. It takes around 15 minutes to get to the main attractions, which is very comfortable. The outdoor pool is spacious, with plenty of available sunbeds throughout the day. There are also several restaurants and bars on site, including a shisha area.

At the same time, there are a few points that could be improved: 1) The room was described as a “large room with sea view”; however, in reality it felt more like a partial sea view (no more than one third of the view). 2) On one of the mornings, the breakfast experience felt quite chaotic and unorganized: many guests arrived at the same time, there was no clear queue management, not enough available tables, and limited availability of soft drinks and some food items (although the situation improved the next day with additional tables). 3) The quality of dishes in the restaurants was inconsistent: some meals were overcooked (though replaced upon request), while others felt more like a small portion rather than a complete dish. The hotel team kindly offered a small compliment, which we appreciated, although we chose not to accept it.

Rooms are very aged. Amenities not provided unless you call and ask for toothbrush. Body lotions not replenished everyday. Simple things like that you expect at 4+ stars. Hotel needs a refurbishment. Buffet breakfast is good. Aidanek, one of the staff, was very lovely and helpful. Hammam was great though. Yonti the therapist was fantastic.

Hammam spa was excellent

Rooms are very aged. Carpet is very old. AC did not function properly. Lobby needs better lighting. Breakfast service is poor. The restaurant is understaffed.
